Terje Brandshaug

Mr. Brandshaug has almost 30 years of experience in the use of numerical models (finite element, finite difference, and distinct element) in solving problems in rock and soil mechanics. He has investigated the effects of static and dynamic loads (seismic and induced explosive) on the stability of underground openings in rock as well as rock slopes and has performed work on coupled fluid-flow/mechanical effects on soil stability. Mr. Brandshaug has had extensive involvement in thermomechanical studies of radioactive waste disposal.
