Orepasses are critical infrastructure for an underground mine as the bulk of all production flows through them.
- About Us
Itasca offers advanced, first-hand knowledge of mining challenges around the globe and a collective pool of expertise covering a wide range of mine operations from hard to soft rock mining using both open pit and underground techniques. We understand the unique geomechanics, hydrologic and microseismic problems associated with surface and underground mines and the logistical constraints that often are encountered in solving these problems.
Itasca is committed to using appropriate levels and methods of investigation that examine both technical and economic factors, and providing practical solutions that apply the best available technology. We are thoroughly familiar with design, ground stability and construction issues, and also uniquely equipped to attack complex or non-standard problems. Our experienced staff work on projects from practical field solutions to design issues to applications of Itasca modeling tools for solving difficult or unusual problems that often arise in large open pits and deep mining.
Development of our own advanced software in numerical simulation of soil and rock mechanics, hydrogeology and microseismics analysis sets Itasca apart from other geotechnical and mining consulting firms. We maintain a diverse, internationally experienced staff in order to provide solutions to problems that apply the best available technology based on practical and local experience. Our work has been recognized internationally by engineering societies, research universities and our own clients.
