Itasca Houston, Inc. is pleased to announce that it will host a 5-day training course entitled Practical Geomechanics for Geoscientists and Oilfield Engineers. This course will take place October 6-10 in Houston Texas with Dr. Marisela Sanchez and Dr. Ivan Gil as instructors.
The training course is designed specifically for geology, geophysics, petrophysics, drilling, reservoir, and completion engineers working in integrated teams. Oil and Gas professionals interested in a vision of new technologies geared towards development of near wellbore and reservoir geomechanics are also encouraged to attend. The training course will cover a range of topics including: in-situ stresses, rock mechanical properties, geomechanical modeling, borehole stability, sand production prediction, reservoir geomechanics applications, naturally fractured reservoirs, geomechanical aspects of hydraulic fracturing and a look into microseismicity monitoring, and an open discussion on client cases.
