Itasca Consultores S.L. was created in 1995 and is based in Llanera, Spain. It serves the European Union market in conjunction with the Itasca office in France (Itasca Consultants S.A.S.). Consulting from the Spain office is concentrated in Spain, with work mainly in the area of geomechanics-related problems in mining and civil projects. Guzmán Gancedo — technical mining engineering. Mr. Gancedo has worked in preprocessing, meshing and running models for underground infrastructures and tunnels.

Vanessa Prieto — technical mining engineering. Ms. Prieto has conducted research on coal out-burst problems and has worked on-site at Gijón Metro.

Montse Senis — technical mining engineering and geological engineering. Mrs. Senis is experienced in the generation of FLAC3D models and has worked on a large number of projects that include 3D modelization, principally tunnel projects.

Pedro Varona — rock mechanics & mining engineering. Mr. Varona has worked as a consulting engineer on more than 100 tunneling projects. He also is experienced in analysis of deep mine workings, open-pit slope design, and subsidence and foundation problems. Mr. Varona is a frequent instructor in the application of Itasca codes.

Pedro Velasco — geotechnical engineering & numerical modeling. Mr. Velasco has worked on a large number of civil (tunnels for roadways, railways, and waste-isolation infrastructures; trenches and slope design and support design) and mining (design of underground works; subsidence) projects. He is well-versed in the use of Itasca codes FLAC and UDEC.
