FLAC - Fast Lagrangian Analysis of Continua) is a powerful two-dimensional continuum code for modelling soil, rock and structural behavior. FLAC is a general analysis and design tool for geotechnical, civil, and mining engineers that can be applied to a broad range of problems in engineering studies.
FLAC3D - a 3-dimensional continuum code based upon FLAC that is used in analysis, testing, and design by geotechnical, civil, and mining engineers. FLAC3D can model a number of complex behaviors not readily suited to FEM codes, such as: problems that consist of several stages, large displacements and strains, non-linear material behavior and unstable systems (even cases of yield/failure over large areas, or total collapse).
UDEC - (Universal Distinct Element Code) is well suited for problems involving jointed rock systems or assemblages of discrete blocks subjected to quasi-static or dynamic conditions. UDEC addresses the engineering problems associated with mining, studies of deep underground isolation of radioactive materials, energy resource recovery, stability analysis of dams on jointed rock foundations, earthquake and seismology studies and subterranean structures.
3DEC - (3-Dimensional Distinct Element Code) is the three-dimensional extension of Itasca's two-dimensional code UDEC. It is specifically designed for simulating either the quasi-static or dynamic response to loading of rock media containing multiple, intersecting joint structures.
PFC2D & PFC3D - (Particle Flow Code in 2 Dimensions; Particle Flow Code in 3 Dimensions) are programs for modelling the movement and interaction of assemblies of arbitrarily-sized circular (2D) or spherical (3D) particles. In addition to modelling bulk flow and mixing of materials, the codes are also well-suited to support fundamental studies of micro- and macrocracking in solid bodies including damage accumulation leading to fracture, dynamic breakage and seismic response.
