These updates are to be used only by licensed 3DEC users. They are not "trial" versions of the code, nor are they fully functional installations — before downloading the update you must install 3DEC from the Itasca software installation CD-ROM.

Fixed Range element Orientation parsing, and fixed how

necessary to issue two commands to select all contacts in
a single joint.
FISH READ intrinsic now returns -1 if no lines were read.
Variant bool types will now save/restore correctly when
used in the Usser Defined Models.
Fixed bug in SaveBlock/RestoreBlock headers for 64
bit. This resolves a problem with restoring save files
associated with projects. However, this breaks
compatability with old project files. Project files will
need to be recreated.
Fixed error where FISH values of index type were sometimes
not recognized as integers on the command line.
On project restore, does not prompt user to restore save
file if no save file name was stored.
Modified attribute widget expand labels to be more

Fixed restore bug in several constitutive models
(ubiquitous joint, strain-softening with ubiquitous joints,
anisotropic, orthotropic). This bug was corrupting the
normal to the orientation plane for these models. Any
results from a model that had been cycled after a
save/restore may be invalid.
87 02/11/09 Fixed error in the large strain unit normal rotation
calculation in the UBIQUITOUS constitutive model.
FISH Range Element functions get a typed index instead of a
pointer as a second argument if the source was an index
object.
88 03/12/09 Fixed bug in block ID in POLY command
Updated to use Qt version 4.5.0.
This version fixes the problem with surfaces dissapearing
during bitmap creation when zooming in on a large model.
Added SET ALT_NMD. This is an experimental alternate
formulation of the nodal mixed discretization in 3DEC. It
is slightly faster and is designed to avoid
progressive geometric drift problems that have occured
when tension failure and dilation were occuring in
adjacent zones. It has been tested with the verification
problems in the 3DEC manual, but has not yet been tested
extensively in real problems. This change has fixed the
errors that were occuring in the known problem models.
89 03/13/09 In subversion 88 we had added ALT_NMD. as part of
this modification we removed the logic that causes
the NMD logic to skip averaging for relatively
much smaller zones. This logic was put back in for
sub version 89 as testing showed it was still
necessary.
90 04/09/09 Fixed colorscale stress plotting for high order tetra
zones.
Fixed an error in the calculation of the minimum and
maximum fiber stress plot. The calculation was
underestimating the fiber stress in some cases.
Added the command SET CRACK_FLOW on/off that (if
set on) will allow fluid flow only in contacts that have
failed (either by shear or tension).
Fixed an error in the fluid head component of the fracture
pressure. It was incorrectly coded to only consider
gravity in the y axis direction.
91 05/01/09 Fixed problem with cx_state(ci) = value when using user
defined joint models.

Note: the plot is based on subcontacts which are not
created for rigid blocks until a cycle or insitu command
is issued.
96 10/29/09 Added SET NUP_FLUID_FLOW n command. This command allows
the user to modify the frequency of updating of the fluid
flow knot volumes and fluid flow timestep. The default
frequency is every 100 cycles. Previously the volumes and
timestep were updated only when a cycle command was
executed.
97 11/11/09 Added support for RANGE SREGION for BOUNDARY loads
98 12/09/09 Fixed error in SOLVE AGE for creep runs. Age limit was
previously ignored. Changed FOBL FOBU limit on creep time
step to be compared to the current solve ratio type (see
SOLVE R_TYPE keyword). Previously the limit was based on
the out of balance force.

z_model(iz) = num ; number can be any valid built
in constitutive model number,

Fixed a problem that occurs when mixing GEN
QUAD zoning with GEN EDGE zoning. The grid point
matching algorithm was corrupting the data
structure needed to perform mixed discretization.

in the center of blocks. Gridpoints in
joined blocks would sometimes not be joined to
a gridpoint in an adjacent block. During
plasticity, these gridpoint could drift.

use the full specified modulus. This was done
because unconfined zones were distorting. When
using excavated blocks in a confined space it is
best to assign the excavated blocks a low bulk
and shear mudulus.
Added a check for contact typing before the FGEOM
command was processed. This fixes a problem with
missing flow planes.
